What will I learn in this course?
I’ve distilled into an actionable series of value-rich and dense lessons over 15 years of experience in the field of robotics and hands-on teaching.
In this course, you will learn how to build and program robots that can sense their environment, think about what to do, and act on their own. You will discover how to break problems into simple steps, create clear plans, and turn those plans into working programs. You will understand the basics of robotics and programming, from using motors and sensors to controlling the flow of actions through sequences, loops, and choices.
You will develop important skills like debugging, designing solutions, improving your projects through testing, and documenting your work. You will explore how to create smarter behaviors for your robots using variables, lists, and even advanced concepts like sensor filtering and feedback control.
Along the way, you will build a strong foundation that will help you tackle creative challenges, robotics competitions, or simply have fun inventing amazing new machines. This course is designed to be reusable and valuable no matter which robot kit or programming language you choose to use.
You won’t just learn how to build and program LEGO robots, the goal is to give you the tools to become a problem solver.
But this course won’t bring you anywhere if you are not willing to take action. Reading through it, even multiple times, is not enough! You have to experiment and put everything into practice. Each section includes exercises that will let you test your knowledge and new abilities.
Only by working in this way will you truly get to your goal.
