Memory Game (Simon)
A classic memory game built with LEGO MINDSTORMS
This LEGO MINDSTORMS game is designed after the cult electronic game from the 80s, Simon, and can be built with the LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor set 51515.
The device has four colored buttons, each producing a particular tone when the player presses it. A round of the Simon game consists of the hub lighting up a series of arrow pointing towards each button and playing tones, after which the player must reproduce that order by pressing the buttons. As the game continues, the number of buttons to be pressed increases, and the speed at which the tones are played increases. How good is your short-term memory?
Simon is named after the simple children's game of Simon Says, but the gameplay is based on Atari's Touch Me arcade game from 1974. Simon's tones are designed to be harmonic and pleasant, and consist of an C major arpeggio, resembling a trumpet fanfare: C-note, E-note, G-note and C-note (an octave higher).
