Magic tricks at the turn of a crank

In September 2018, I could visit the restoration workshop of the Museum Speelklok in Utrecht. There, a restorator showed me many automata, of which one in particular caught my attention. It was a little figurine of a conjurer making objects on his table appear and disappear in cycle. It’s quite a rare opportunity to observe such an old automaton so closely. The mechanism was deceptively simple and fail-proof. That’s why I decided to improve my previous wizard automaton and make this new LEGO magician automaton.

• The objects that appear and disappear can be replaced and customized
• The mechanism is completely hidden in the base and underneath the table cloth
• The space under the table is really empty, increasing the level of mistery
• A “MAGIC” text is built in the base front using LEGO SNOT building techniques.
