QUICKBOT is ideal for the busy teacher!
March 2018: I designed this little LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 robot in half an hour. I was in a hurry, because I needed to build 4 mobile robots for a showcase in the Technical High School where I teach robotics. It was so quick to design, and you will find it so quick to build, that I called it QUICKBOT. The robot uses as few parts as possible from a single LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 Core set 45544. You can attach all kind of sensors to it.
I successfully tested this design when I introduced my 14yo students to programming. They had never programmed a robot before, but in just 2 hours they had a blast competing in their first mini SUMO tournament! The trick was using the Brick Program App, to develop on the EV3 brick itself a simple yet very effective program for a SUMO robot.
