This is a LEGO AT-ST walker (All Terrain Scout Transport) from the Star Wars saga. It walks and turns using just two motors. This LEGO MINDSTORMS biped robot is described in detail in my book “Creating Cool MINDSTORMS NXT Robots”.
Its behaviour is implemented by a finite state machine, as described in the book.
