The Tripod is built after the alien invaders of the
War of the Worlds movie.
Its unique way of walking allows this monster to walk straight in
three directions, and can turn within its footprints. This robot can be built with the NXT 2.0 retail
set 8547.
The original idea for Tripod ages back to 2009, since this was meant
to be an official LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 2.0 Bonus model. After a long
delay, I decided to make it public on my page. Feel free to decorate
it as you want, and if you come up with something cool,
let me know!

The program must
be compiled with
BricxCC setting optimization level
to 0! See instructions below.
Click on Edit Preferences button
(Yellow Gear) or using the menu,
Edit->Preferences
In the Preferences dialog, click on
Compiler tab, NBC/NXC subtab, and select 0 from
the Optimization Level drop-down menu. Click OK to close this
dialog, and then compile, download an run program by clicking the
combo CTRL+F5. Enjoy!
